French Bill Would Target Lawyers, Accountants for "Providing Means to Commit Tax Fraud"
Accused professionals could face prison, $500,000 fine
Lawyers, accountants, and other professional consultants who help clients commit tax fraud could face up to five years in prison and a 500,000 euros ($530,600) fine under a French government proposal.
The proposal is one of several measures targeting tax fraud in the government’s draft 2024 budget bill, which the National Assembly is due to begin considering this week.
